The Primorsky Stage Of The Mariinsky Theatre is the most modern theatre in the Far East and one of the youngest theatres in Russia. It was built as part of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in 2012. The original architectural design has made the building a city landmark. The building is designed as a "cube within a cube" and was constructed using today’s most advanced technologies.

The theatre has three stages: the Great Hall, the Chamber Hall, and the Summer Terrace. Opera and ballet performances, large symphonic, and choral concerts take place in the Great Hall. The Chamber Hall with the auditorium that has 306 seats is used for chamber concerts, evenings of romances, children’s plays, evenings with artists, and press conferences. The Summer Terrace is built for open-air performances and is used from the end of spring until the beginning of fall.

The Great Hall of the Primorsky Stage is intended for large-scale opera and ballet performances. Built in a horseshoe shape, it can seat 1,356 audience members. Natural materials — inlaid wood panels made of Filipino pinewood and a ceiling, constructed without the use of metal — have given the Great Hall it’s unique sound. This state-of-the-art technology was installed with the help of Japanese specialists.
